River's Laughter

The trip to the River, a day in the water
The waves & ripples, I watch under the sun
Like a diamond, the bouncing light gleams
And I listen to the language of the trees
Off the rope, into the river I swing
Bubbling from my mouth spill joyous laughter

From every corner of the park rings laughter
The glee filled sound reflects off the water
From a branch hangs a rope for all to swing
High in the sky, floats the sun
Families sit on benches under the shade of trees
The joy of Summer, from young eyes does it gleam

The living happiness in every eye doth gleam
Every child is a fountain of laughter
The green life of the living tree
Is given to them by the blue waters
Which shine under the brilliant sun
In the hopes of fun, moods swing

Off the rope, into the river I swing
Upon the Big Eau River light gleams
And that beautifully warm light is the sun
All around me I hear people laughing
Sounds and light glance off the river's water
Bird flit and call from the tall trees

Into the heights, squirrels climb the trees
From branch to branch they go swinging
Keeping away and out of the water
And from childrens' eyes, excitement gleams
From their throats comes gleeful laughter
All revel in the warmth of the sun

As parents close their eyes from the glare of the Sun
And picnic 'neath to spread branches of trees
Children rush to the beach, joyfully laughing
And from the rope, teens swing
Happiness and joy in peoples' eyes doth gleam
And into the river, people splash water

As everyone laughs under the sun
The water laps the roots of trees
And from the swing we fall into life that gleams
