No More Extra Sugar

Your tummy's grumbling
The suger's rumbling
Your fingers are brown
With gooey brownies
You know you had too many
When you start to feel sick
You couldn't help it
They were just too good
Everything is blurry
The sugar starts to wear off
When just ten minutes ago
You finished your last
Your system crashes and burns
The exaushtion seeps in
And you fight to keep
Your heavy head off the desk
Keep your eyes open
Or they'll close for good
You'll go to sleep
And face the consequenses
That follow the music
Time for less sugar
Time for more caffine
You can't help it
You needed to wake up
But you never expected
The burning sleepyness
That would follow the brownies
So now you are
Back where you started
Fighting to stay awake
In a class so boring
You finally realize
That sugar's not the answer
It's time to wake up
And smell the sour scent
Of reality.

Kiss me; I'm .....Half-Irish!!! lol

Green every where
Some in spirit
Others not wanting
The painful pinch
It's St. Patty's Day
Whether you believe
Or not
It doesn't matter
What the origins are
Of the holiday
All it's about
Is the fun
So let's get together
All in Green
And pinch everyone who's not!!!

Note: just cuz St. Patty's day is a christian thing doesn't mean that you can't have the fun of pinching others not in green and wear green yourself!!!

Little Maxxy

Silly Kitten, charging on a rampage
Bring laughter and an adored phrase
No body wants to put him in a cage
Silly Kitten, charging on a rampage
Little Maxxy, you know you're no sage
Every body knows it's just a phase
Silly Kitten, charging on a rampage
Bring laughter and an adored phrase

Summer's Fun

White sands blaze under the sun
Blue waves lap at the beach
Spending a day in Summer's fun

Playing volleyball at a run
Keep the ball off the ground
White sands blaze under the sun

Towels laid out for a bath in the sun
Lotion rubbed on to avoid the burn
Spending a day in Summer's fun

A picnic basket of strawberries and a bun
Sweet juices of the fruit quench thirsts
White sands blaze under the sun

Though now it is done
The day started early
Spending a day in Summer's fun

Down goes the sun
Gone is the fun
White sands blaze under the sun
Spending a day in Summer's fun

Me

Going through life
Listening to others
Tell you how
To live your life
You begin to become
So confused
Do this
No, do that
What is it
You really want to do
Go there
Stay here
No, I'm tired of it
I will do
What I want to do
I will live my life
The way I want to
I will succeed
I will become
What I want to be
No matter what others say
I will be no body else
But me

Familia

Enjoying time with my family
Laughing, joking, complaining
We all fit together
Siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins
Brought together by grief
And special occasions
No matter the reason
We all love each other
We are family
And we are one

River's Laughter

The trip to the River, a day in the water
The waves & ripples, I watch under the sun
Like a diamond, the bouncing light gleams
And I listen to the language of the trees
Off the rope, into the river I swing
Bubbling from my mouth spill joyous laughter

From every corner of the park rings laughter
The glee filled sound reflects off the water
From a branch hangs a rope for all to swing
High in the sky, floats the sun
Families sit on benches under the shade of trees
The joy of Summer, from young eyes does it gleam

The living happiness in every eye doth gleam
Every child is a fountain of laughter
The green life of the living tree
Is given to them by the blue waters
Which shine under the brilliant sun
In the hopes of fun, moods swing

Off the rope, into the river I swing
Upon the Big Eau River light gleams
And that beautifully warm light is the sun
All around me I hear people laughing
Sounds and light glance off the river's water
Bird flit and call from the tall trees

Into the heights, squirrels climb the trees
From branch to branch they go swinging
Keeping away and out of the water
And from childrens' eyes, excitement gleams
From their throats comes gleeful laughter
All revel in the warmth of the sun

As parents close their eyes from the glare of the Sun
And picnic 'neath to spread branches of trees
Children rush to the beach, joyfully laughing
And from the rope, teens swing
Happiness and joy in peoples' eyes doth gleam
And into the river, people splash water

As everyone laughs under the sun
The water laps the roots of trees
And from the swing we fall into life that gleams

Kiss of Nature

Wildlife is everywhere
Beyond the road
It is natural
Siberian tigers in zoos
Kangaroo rats, kit foxes
Mice and wolf spiders
A seal called Star
Little scents of the world
Exploration most wanted
Change the storm force
The bird chases dragonflies
After the daring chatter
Ready for double hits
Most want to see the white-tailed tropic bird
The sleek grey bird turned out to be a red-footed falcon
"The bird of the century."

Note: this is copied down from a "found poem" done in one of my school classes

Desires

Sitting in class
I listen to the teacher talk
After ten minutes
I loose interest
And start to doze
My mind floats free
Leaving my body behind.
The sky is blue
The sun is warm
I look down
And the school
And the town
Disapper.
In their place,
A castle and field
Of magnificent beauty.
O! how I desire
To become one of their world
But some wishes
Won't come true
I pull away
In time for the bell

Note: this is another version of my daydreaming poems

Running Away

It doesn't matter
How far you go
The distance doesn't seem
To be getting any bigger
No matter how fast you run
The truth always catches up
You try and try to hide
From the inevitible
But it always finds you
Running away just doesn't cut
The grief of what's to come
It's always there
It's time to stop running
Time to turn back around
Time to face the music
And suck it up
It's time to realize
That you're not the only one
Who's facing the coming pain
You're not the only one who hurts
It's time
To stop
Running away
